I came from the land of the sun,
I came to a land of snow and darkness.
I lived some days in icy hell.
Until I met an angel,
she surpassed beauty itself,
and lit up all she touched.
For some blessed reason
she looked at me and smiled.
A flame the size of the moon
lit up inside me,
and nothing can ever put it out.

I shall never forget you!
Don't forget me.

"When I Was One-and-Twenty"

When I was one-and-twenty
I heard a wise man say.
"Give crowns and pounds and guineas
But not your heart away;
Give pearls away and rubies
But keep your fancy free."
But I was one-and-twenty
No use to talk to me.
