FOGGY WINDSHIELD


Dear Love,

I talked all night with my friend in your car. It was raining outside so the inside steamed up. To tease me, my friend wrote your name with a heart underneath on the foggy windshield.

For days, whenever we drove at night, your name and my implied, but unspoken of, love shone through the words highlighted on the glass. I thought you never noticed it since we still hadn't said the 'L' word, and you never brought it up.

So when I saw you writing on that same windshield one night as I walked out of the supermarket, I thought nothing of it. Until one day I noticed you had written my name beneath the heart.
