EXONERATE YOURSELF


Dear _____,

When I feel most self-righteous, I think you projected your desire onto me in order to exonerate yourself. When I feel more complicit, I still think that you always misread me.

I wonder if I should make you an annotated version of everything I've sent and said to you. And maybe you could answer some questions about some things you've sent my way.

But we still wouldn't figure it out, would we? And I'm afraid of how we would lie.

Perhaps I already have lied, in composing this letter.
